Funders
At inception the Trust received endowment funding in an amount of one million US dollars from the Norwegian government. This was followed by several other donations which provided funding for its various projects.

To avoid conflict of interests, the Trust is limited to raising funds from individuals or organisations that have little or no prospect of litigating before the Constitutional Court. This precludes many local foundations and charities, since they are linked to corporations active in South Africa.
